چکیده
Objectives: The aim of our study is to see the efficacy palliative radiotherapy (RT) for bleeding control in patients with advanced gastric cancer (AGC). Materials and Methods: It a retrospective review based on observations 74 AGC median age 60 years (range 50–82 years) who had active tumour were treated RT. Treatment response was assessed by both subjective symptom relief objective change parameters. Objective RT defined an increase haemoglobin (Hb) level decrease number packed red blood cell (RBC) units needed after Results: Response haemostatic observed 52 out (70.27%). We significant mean Hb Pre-RT 6.14 ± 1.01 post-RT 7.19 1.75 ( P < 0.05). also evident RBC post-haemostatic pre-RT transfused 8.28 3.76 post-RT, it 4.34 2.91 (P overall survival 90 days transfusion-free 40 days. Conclusion: may be effective treatment option AGC. In study, we fair reasonably durable haemostasis. A success rate 70.24% documented clinical palliation, higher fewer transfusions This modality more important reliable situations where alternative modalities are not feasible.

Efficacy of palliative radiotherapy for gastric bleeding in patients with unresectable advanced gastric cancer: a retrospective cohort study
BACKGROUND Bleeding negatively impacts quality of life in patients with unresectable advanced gastric cancer and has the potential to be lethal. When blood transfusion and endoscopic hemostasis are unsuccessful to stop bleeding, radiation to stomach is selected in patients with unsuitable condition for surgery. We performed a retrospective cohort study to clarify the utility of radiotherapy in ...
